Christian Center Assembly of God (CCAG) began in January 1992, in founding Pastor Carl B. Lambert’s living room with 12 people. Two short years later, in June 1994, the Lord provided opportunity for Christian Center to purchase property and build a building at 112 W. Britton St. in Krum. Pastor Lambert had a great vision for this church. He faithfully served this congregation until the Lord called him home in January 2007.
In April 2007, Joe R. Mayo became pastor at Christian Center and God began to bless the church with growth and new families, since then we have become more visible in the community. In 2010, God began to stir Pastor Mayo’s heart about buying land. We were blessed to purchase 46.7 acres here in Krum for future growth of our church.
In August 2011, a potential buyer offered us cash for our Britton Street property. After much prayer and discussion, we decided the Lord was leading us to take a step of faith, so we sold the church. Our last service at 112 W. Britton was held on October 30, 2011. and Sunday, November 6, 2011 we began to meet at Dodd Intermediate School, our new, temporary location. On April 3, 2016 we broke ground on our new building and construction began and nearly two years later on March 4, 2018 we had our first service in our new building.
That’s not the end of the story, there’s still more in-store for us. More that we want to do, and more importantly more that God wants to do through us. Our vision for our church is Greater Than our resources. God’s vision for our church is Greater Than our wildest dream!
Christian Center Assembly of God is building a body of believers for service in a Spirit filled environment that emphasizes missions, spiritual growth, ministry and relationships.
